I love creating murals in public spaces. Combining paint, people and places.

In Manjimup I’ve created two murals for the same wall - fourteen years apart.

The Shire of Manjimup have supported my work for nearly two decades. The first mural, ‘Community Spirit’, was painted with students from Manjimup SHS and Kearnan College in 2001. The second, ‘Sharing the harvest’ was painted in 2014 with participants from a local disability group and figures modelled directly from local community residents.

I enjoy involving community in the painting process.

At Windy Harbour in 2004 I worked with my partner, Peter ill, to create a fish-themed mural. Over 100 visitors to the beach side hamlet participated over a three week period in the summer holidays. The fish theme meant mean and teenage boys had a go…a usually very challenging demographic to engage in arts projects.

Murals are a great way to explore & celebrate local heritage.

In Northam in 1998 my partner, Peter Hill, and I created two murals for the Northam Mainstreet Project. One work celebrated farming history, while the other’s thematic focus was a former school. The school mural involved students from Year 7 in the design and patin gin process.

I create for interior spaces as well as exterior spaces

In 1998 I was commissioned through WA’s Percent for Art scheme to design an integrated series of artworks for the new South West Health Campus, Bunbury.

I developed a story for the children’s ward, complete with a unique set of characters. In murals and theatre box sets embedded in the walls we created an imaginative world in which invalid children could find whimsy amidst their woes.
